Comprehensive Recovery Services

Of the individuals seen in 2007 by case management at NCRC, 19% reported substance abuse issues. To better address these individuals the Comprehensive Recovery Services program was developed by a certified substance abuse counselor on staff to augment the Back to Basics program for individuals in need of substance abuse or dual diagnosis recovery assistance.

Comprehensive Recovery Services (CRS) is a counseling and relapse prevention program designed to offer an integrated approach to the recovery process for substance abusers and those suffering dual diagnosis. Essential life skills and basic employment readiness are aspects of this program assisting to develop a healthier lifestyle. All North Coast Resource Center (NCRC) services are utilized in an individual manner to support recovery and self-sufficiency.

The Program

Participation in the CRS program is voluntary, and is usually a part of Back to Basics (BtB) program participation. NCRC services are fully integrated and all programs and services are open to all participants as needed. Participants in Back to Basics routinely engage in case management, counseling, workshops and classes. Individuals in need of CRS are directed to participation in specific CRS program elements and BtB program sections that will be most useful to their particular circumstances. CRS clients additionally receive individual counseling that focuses on relapse prevention. Multiple staff members are trained in relapse prevention, better serving individuals in need of these services and to ensure ready access to trained staff when necessary.
