Shelter Programs
Shelter Referrals
Clients in need of emergency or transitional shelter work with the case manager. A limited number of individuals are referred to Arcata Night Shelter operated by the Humboldt All Faith Partnership (HAFP). Intakes for the eleven beds are performed at the ASC. Clients are picked up by HAFP staff and transported to the shelter daily. Clients are returned to the ASC each morning. Clients eligible for transitional shelter are referred to Arcata House. That transitional program, however, frequently has an extensive waiting list of eligible individuals and families. Referrals are made to other local shelter agencies as openings are identified. There remains a severe shortage of available emergency and transitional beds available locally for those in need of shelter services.

There are no fees charged for any aspect of this service.
